Bravo to Rob on the opening of his new production, Working Out My "Women Issues" last night at Mackenzie Hall. Their run continues through Saturday March 29, so if you get a chance, do yourself a favour and check it out.

Since I've been neglecting this blog again there's been no mention of my car getting broken into a few weeks ago. I've vented enough to people about it, so I won't do that anymore. Instead I want to vent about Sirius and their vile and clueless telemarketing. Although my previous car got interfered with more than once, it had never happened to the new one until now, a fact which I ruefully attribute to the presence of the satellite radio that Mom was nice enough to gift me with last December. Once bitten, twice shy… Unfortunately, there's no way to hide the antenna, you see. So, I cancelled the service. But that wasn't good enough for Sirius, oh no. You see, I'm a Valued Customer and They Want Me Back!

The fact that they continue to send me e-mails addressing me as a "subscriber" is a small thing, though irritating. But what really makes my blood pressure skyrocket is calls to my cell phone. It's stupid for a single person to pay for more than one phone, so the cell is still my only one and will remain so. Unfortunately that leaves me at the mercy of the least common denominator when it comes to phone privacy. So, when I got an automated call Thursday evening after work generously offering to switch me to a flesh and blood person so they could try to win me back, I instructed said human clearly and simply, in plain English, that Sirius was not to call me again—ever. He in turn made noises that a reasonable person might suppose indicated that he understood and would comply. Reassured, I hung up before he could irritate me any further with an attempt to apologize, and got on with my day.

So of course they called again Friday evening, this time leaving a voice mail message. It's time to educate myself about the current state of Canadian law on this matter and start making myself heard in a way they'll understand. I will not put up with this nonsense.

Went to the movies this weekend. Verdict: 10,000 BC sucks ass. Avoid.

Edit: Geez, nearly six months since my last blog post. Half-assed resolution: Write something every day. If it's good enough, post it.

I'll leave the resolution posted to give hilarious context to my next posting. Watch this space.
