Hey, look! Non-contact ultraviolet photon-induced electric field poling of ferroelectric non-linear photonic bandgap crystals! Hot diggity!

Ahem. Supposedly, that's the technology that will enable a disk the size of a 3.5-inch floppy to hold approximately 125,000 CDs' worth of data. Which is actually pretty cool. Sounds expensive, though.
